New at the VDL Stud is Quasimodo van de Molendreef, a Grand Prix jumper with blood-type and expression.
His sire is the well-known Heartbreaker, producer of multiple international jumpers and approved stallions. Grandsire is the valuable stallion Lys de Darmen, who is a sire and grandsire of many international jumpers. Full brother of Quasimodo van de Molendreef is Action Breaker, an approved BWP stallion and Grand Prix jumper under Sergio Alvarez Moya. Action Breaker was 11th at the WEG in Kentucky and placed 3rd in the Aachen Grand Prix.
Quasimodo van de Molendreef was successful at international level with both David Jobertie and Jaime Azcarraga. He competed at Grand Prix with many high placings: 1st at the Grand Prix Lons le Saunier, 3rd in the Grand Prix of Vigo, 4th in the finals of the Sires of the World in S’Hertogenbosch, and 2nd in the Sires of the World Mechelen. Unfortunately, an injury cut short his career.
Offspring of Quasimodo van de Molendreef are successful in sport. Two of his offspring competed at the Olympic Games in London: Hello Sanctos (Scott Brash) contributed to the Team Gold Medal, finishing individually in 5th place. Comte d’Arsouilles (Alexander Onishenko) also attended. In 2012, the latter pair won the Nations Cups at Drammen and Linz. Hello Sanctos won the World Cup qualifier in Wellington and placed in the World Cup qualifiers: 4th in Helsinki and 5th in Oslo. More offspring competing at international level are for example Carat, Bellano van de Bosbeek, Dauphine de Muze and Unari van de Wolfsakker.
The first KWPN registered offspring are now at the age of 4 and 5 and seem promising, plus they are selling for good prices.
