Na drie dagen springsport van de bovenste plank was het de Duitse topruiter Marcus Ehning die met zijn KWPN-springfenomeen Plot Blue dit jaar de 32e editie van de Rolex / FEI Wereldbekerfinale op zijn naam schreef. Naast een ervaren ruiter heeft hij de springkwaliteiten ook in zijn genen. De familie Burgers uit Moergestel fokten de hengst uit de waardevolle Pilot-merrie Ilotte, die eerder al bekendheid verwierf als moeder van de KWPNgoedgekeurde en eveneens op Grand Prix-niveau springende hengst Oklund (v.Holland). Daarnaast bracht Ilotte ook de nationaal 1.40-springende Nilotte (v.Holland). Vader Mr. Blue heeft onder Bert Romp, Elise Haas en Katie Monahan Prudent internationaal gesprongen. Daarnaast bracht hij naast Plot Blue o.a de internationale springpaarden, Savanna B, Okometa, Plot Blue, Parmala Douche, Santana B, Sunday B, True Blue B en nog vele andere.
